Polar Bears in St. Anthony
These photos show the cages that are used to temporarily contain the 2 Polar Bears. The photos were taken on April, 14, 2008 - Department of Fisheries building, St. Anthony.
These Polar Bears were tranquilized & captured - and were waiting to be transported the next morning by helicopter towards Labrador to be released.
There is a Polar Bear within each cage - yet, the bear in the right cage was more active (and visible for photographing)..
Some people were watching the bears eat supper. The bears were typically resting - but, occasionally lifted their heads to stare at the crowd of people, watching from behind the Department of Fisheries gates.
Note the Polar food "kiblets" in the photos.. Do pet stores sell "Polar Bear Feed"?.. Purina Polar Chow?..
Pretty amazing photos to see.. Thanks very much to all photo contributors..
